Most Histograms from 1972 through 2008 are now available on a DVD. We are missing years 1988 through 1999. If you have any of the missing issues, please let Sheri or me know. Bob Brunner thinks he may have some.

As I scanned 92 issues I had a great walk down memory lane (even though most of the years I didn't live in Minnesota). The faces and names are familiar, are a veritable 'Who's Who" of Histotechnology. I invite you to contact Sheri Blair for a DVD.

The four albums that Mary Settles-Kroeplin created are truly wonderful; we displayed them at the meeting in Mankato today. They were a big hit, so Sheri will bring them to the Tri-State in Rochester too.

Sheri added several photos she took at NSH and I added several 'portraits' taken at NSH.

So you'll find two new pages just below NSH Information. Happy viewing!

I want to extend my thanks to the diligence of our long time historian, Mary Settles-Kroeplin. You did a great job of organizing everything.

I am in the process of scanning Histograms, minutes, and important documents from the four huge albums and a large bag. My goal is to complete it before I head south in November.

So far, there are two new 'child pages' of About Us - check them out.

    April 25, 2013

To the Members of the Minnesota Society for Histotechnology

It has been my pleasure to serve the Society as Editor for the past nine editions of the Histogram (Spring 2011 through Spring 2013.) Being a retired person has certainly provided me the opportunity, and the time, to explore creative options which I have thoroughly enjoyed. Then, to learn that the Histogram won the 2012 NSH Merit Award is a great source of pride and joy for me.

I want to extend a heartfelt Thank You to those who contributed articles, ideas, and photos; especially to Sheri Blair for providing a ‘second pair of eyes’ before each publication.

Earlier this year my husband and I purchased a winter home in Florida and we plan to get out of the snow, cold, and grunge of Minnesota from late November through April in the coming years. Therefore I am resigning as Editor effective as soon as possible, and no later than the Fall Edition of the Histogram.

Congratulations & Thank You to Jason Thorsten who has volunteered to become Editor of The Histogram. I'll help him with the transition.

I also enjoyed creating the new website and the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with the other Administrators – President Sheri Blair, Treasurer Michelle Nelsen, and Membership Chair Jeannette Wallen. I would like to remain a web administrator and resource to the others until such time as they are confident and don’t need me anymore. It has marvelous capabilities and options; we’ve just barely scratched the surface. I fully expect that the Membership Renewal process will exceed all expectations this fall.

My challenge to you: Log on, learn what’s there, to stay current with our Society.

    Sincerely,

    Lee Anne Horvath
