To the Members of the Minnesota Society for Histotechnology

It has been my pleasure to serve the Society as Editor for the past nine editions of the Histogram (Spring 2011 through Spring 2013.) Being a retired person has certainly provided me the opportunity, and the time, to explore creative options which I have thoroughly enjoyed. Then, to learn that the Histogram won the 2012 NSH Merit Award is a great source of pride and joy for me.

I want to extend a heartfelt Thank You to those who contributed articles, ideas, and photos; especially to Sheri Blair for providing a ‘second pair of eyes’ before each publication.

Earlier this year my husband and I purchased a winter home in Florida and we plan to get out of the snow, cold, and grunge of Minnesota from late November through April in the coming years. Therefore I am resigning as Editor effective as soon as possible, and no later than the Fall Edition of the Histogram.

Congratulations & Thank You to Jason Thorsten who has volunteered to become Editor of The Histogram. I'll help him with the transition.

I also enjoyed creating the new website and the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with the other Administrators – President Sheri Blair, Treasurer Michelle Nelsen, and Membership Chair Jeannette Wallen. I would like to remain a web administrator and resource to the others until such time as they are confident and don’t need me anymore. It has marvelous capabilities and options; we’ve just barely scratched the surface. I fully expect that the Membership Renewal process will exceed all expectations this fall.

My challenge to you: Log on, learn what’s there, to stay current with our Society.

Sincerely,

Lee Anne Horvath
